About
The Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) is a dual site research and development facility available to industry and academic institutions to support and accelerate the development of innovative medical technologies.
Who we are
Our research facility is based at Nottingham Trent University’s (NTU) Clifton Campus, four miles from the city centre. Our development centre is part of the Boots Enterprise Zone, just two miles away from our research facility.
Our team consists of commercial and technical professionals based in MTIF facilities, working with seasoned academics and strategic partners to take innovations from bench to bedside.
What we do
We provide world-class facilities and industry leading experts enabling organisations of all sizes to develop innovative medical technologies. MTIF provides laboratories, clean rooms, specialist equipment and a dedicated team of experts to support the total innovation process.
We accelerate new product development for innovative medical technologies by bringing together technical expertise with regulatory know-how, a network of clinical trial facilities and access to both government and private funding.
We offer space for like-minded businesses to cluster, network and share knowledge to drive innovation and new discovery.
Why work with MTIF
Our focus is on helping organisations improve outcomes for patients by accelerating innovative product development. We take concepts from ‘bench to bedside’ ensuring the requirements of Medical Device Regulation 2017/745 and In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation 2017/746 are met within a Quality Management System that conforms to ISO13485:2016.
We have a flexible approach to working with you. Helping you to develop your IP or capitalising on ours through longer term strategic partnership or shorter term tactical support, we will configure a support package to suit your specific needs, assigning a project manager for each project no matter how large or small.
